  • A backward step, matching socks.

  • From: Tom (Velovole@hotmail.com) on 2 August 2006
  • Ah, I wore matching socks for my bits tho'!

  • From: Peter Eland (Peter@velovision.co.uk) on 2 August 2006
  • Having just looked through the printouts I can reassure readers that Tom and his socks don't make a photographic appearance at all.

    Nor you Seamus. Sorry.

One of Arch's socks is prominently visible, though.

I'll have the printouts at CycleVision if anyone wants a (black-and-white) sneak preview...

    Cheers!
    Pete

  • Oh, Lord. If I'd known you were going to print a picture of my sock, I'd have worn a newer pair...

By the way, I'd like to clarify that 'underwater cycling' doesn't refer to my boat. At least, I hope it doesn't...

  • From: Seamus (etc) on 2 August 2006
  • I seem to recall summat about Kraftwerk in, "Cycling Plus, within the last few years.

There's a web page, out there, all about cycling and music wot I encountered in the early days of my Cycling Films Big List.

Question. Which actor, later to attain stardom in the Carry-On films, wobbled on a bicycle in, "The Lavender Hill Mob," and threw his bicycle into the Mediterranean Sea in, "Above Us The Waves," ?

  • From: Arch (@KM) on 2 August 2006

  • From: Arch (@KM) on 2 August 2006
  • I'm sorry, I'll try that again...

Was it the little chap with the specs? I can't remember his name, I never watched any Carry On.

  • From: Wobbly John (cycles@xntrick.co.ok) on 2 August 2006
  • The little bloke wiv specs was Charles Hawtry wasn't it?

But I think the answer could be Sid James

  • From: Arch (@KM) on 2 August 2006
  • Yes, I remembered the name Charles Hawtry in the pub last night. Still no idea if it was him in the Lavender Hill Mob, it's a while since I saw it.

  • From: S (etc) on 2 August 2006
  • It was on the telly last week
