Airnimal celebrates 10 years!

Owners are invited along to join the festivities in and around Cambridge on the weekend of 14/15th August...

Many congratulations to Airnimal on their ten years in business! They're planning to celebrate in style, and any Airnimal owners who can make it are warmly invited to join in.

Richard Loke of Airnimal writes:

*********

It's hard for us to believe that 10 years has passed since the first Airnimal was sold in the UK.

We can still remember the thrill of riding the first prototype and then the excitement of selling our first bike. And, in truth, despite the passage of time, that excitement hasn't lessened. We still get excited seeing an Airnimal out on the road. Of course in those early days, we knew each customer personally, but now the likelihood is that the rider is unknown to us and us to them. However, we still feel that we all belong to a small, but growing, community and we would like as many owners as possible to join together with us in celebrating the 10th anniversary of this unique bike.

We've decided to hold the celebration in our home town of Cambridge over the weekend of the 14th and 15th of August. We're planning on doing some very leisurely riding, having a small display of our history and some new products and, of course, some eating, including a dinner in the special setting of Kings College.

The schedule 'officially' starts on Saturday at 1000 on Kings Parade outside Kings College, though, if some of you are planning on arriving on Friday night we suggest an informal gathering from 2000 at Eagle / Anchor / Granta. / Red Lion Grantchester / Plough

Saturday
  • 1000 assembly on Kings Parade near to the front of Kings College. Leisurely 20 mile ride to buffet lunch and product display (2 hours) Depart around 1430 to return to Cambridge by around 1700.
  • 1900 assembly for drinks prior to dinner at 1945.
Sunday
  • 1030 assembly for leisurely ride to Wimpole for lunch then back into Cambridge around 1600.
Notes:
  1. Do be aware that Cambridge is notorious for bike theft. There are a couple of CCTV protected bike parks in the city, but whether or not you use these, if you are leaving bikes unattended in the city, good locks are essential.
  2. Airnimal is providing a buffet lunch on Saturday, The dinner at Kings will cost £TBA. Otherwise all refreshments will be the responsibility of participants
  3. We will be riding on public roads and cycle paths so normal road etiquette should be observed. In addition, there could be quite a large number of riders so special care should be taken.
  4. It is advisable to bring waterproofs and basic tools on the rides.
  5. Airnimal takes no responsibility for any loss or damage during the course of the event.
