Ride of My Life: The Story of the Bicycle
Posted by: Avro (IP Logged)
Date: July 29, 2010 09:52AM This was on BBC4 on Tuesday night. It was absolutely super. Rob Penn went around the world making up his perfect bike and looked at the history of the development of the Bicycle. He paid a visit to the Brookes factory in Birmingham to get his saddle made.
Yesterday (Wed) we were touring National Trust sites in Cheshire and I was surprised to hear the number of people discussing the program. Very interesting. Anyone else here see it? It is available on iPlayer for the next few days. [www.bbc.co.uk] Re: Ride of My Life: The Story of the Bicycle

Date: July 29, 2010 02:00PM Yes, it was interesting if a little roadie orientated. The idea of having a tailored bike is one many cyclists aspire too. I was a little doubtful about his choice of colours though! "I thought of that while riding my bike." --Albert Einstein, on the Theory of Relativity "I thought of that while riding my trike." --Geoff on the possibility of 'wasting' the rest of his life triking. 2007QNT 2008 Kettwiesel AL27 1951 Engine Re: Ride of My Life: The Story of the Bicycle

Date: July 31, 2010 11:33PM Just watched a recording of it. It was interesting in some ways but, as Geoff says, Very "Roadie Orientated". If he wants to spend his money on that type of bike I am okay with that but I think it would have been good to see a few of the other bits and pieces that he would have chosen from to get to the final make up. Date: August 05, 2010 01:48PM I think that the perfect bike is not invented yet, but soon it might be if you follow the developments the last 10 years. dieselfuel properties, hydraulicoil filters, coalmine fire Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
