Back from Eurobike - reports follow

We're back from an action-packed Eurobike show. Electric bike reports are going up on our sister site already, and more will follow here shortly...

Home at last after this year's Eurobike - which, for the uninitiated, is Europe's biggest and best trade show, the industry gathering of the year. And the show is huge too - over 40,000 visitors came to the trade days, there were 1100+ exhibitors over 100,000 square metres in 14 halls - it was a challenge just to get around it all!

Anyway, we did so, and after crossing Europe by sleeper train (which turned out to be a 'not much sleeper' train both ways, unfortunately) we got back a few days ago with over 900 images, video footage, countless business cards and leaflets, and the odd product to review!

See the Electric Bike magazine website for the first six or so reports from the show, covering (of course) the electric aspects of the event. At least as many again will follow.

And of course we'll have a full report in the next Velo Vision about everything else!

To whet your appetite... how about an 18-speed, 634%, German-made gearing system, described by one industry insider as a 'Rohloff killer'...?

See the manufacturer's website for some more details!

  • That doesn't look like it can be retro-fitted without major frame butchery, in which case it's a fail (for me, at least). I don't even want to consider how much it'll cost.

I'll wait for my 11-speed Alfine, I think. If I wanted even more range I'd chuck a Mountain Drive into the equation.

  • For me the best part is the gear spacing: 11.5% steps. Better than any other hub gear. Now if they can just get the price, weight, efficiency right !!
(Why does no one make a closer ratio hub gear, say 7 speed with 12% steps. Add in a double chainwheel and I would be v. happy).
