Winter greetings from Germany - and some seasonal ideasClick this story for a nice picture illustrating the advantages of a full fairing in winter :-). And an idea for upright riders. It was sent as an email greetings card from Tobias Enke in Germany. He is the German representative of the vehicle's Danish manufacturer, Leitra, and runs an informative website (unfortunately only in German) at www.leitra.de. There are plenty of links to other Leitra and velomobile sites. The Leitra website is in English :-) Tobias was also the subject of a BCQ article a few years ago, in which he described how he made a living touring, selling little silver wire models on the streets, and selling advertising space on the side of his vehicle. An interesting chap. I've only tried a Leitra once, briefly, at a trade show. It's a lovely space-frame design under the shell, and handled well, with a most ingenious side-stick steering linkage. Sometime soon I'd like to give one a proper trial - the British winter makes the prospect of cycling in the dry particularly attractive :-) Of the links on Tobias's site, Ian Feldman's Leitra web pages are particularly good. And I didn't know that they had a UK agent, either (it's Bikefix). I suppose one of these might be a less radical solution: Found this on this website from Ultimate Bike Gear in Vancouver, Canada.
