Bike Right 6 1/2 - late news of a fun eventIt may sound like a particularly bad sequel film, but Bike Right 6 1/2 is actually a weekend event in Northumberland, UK... OK, I've had my arm twisted to mention this shatteringly important item of international news... but I went to the last Bike Right and to several before that, and they're good events. ![]() Bike Right 6 in November was held in the Youth Hostel at Wooler, Northumberland (just near the border between England and Scotland, on not far from the East coast and Holy Island (aka Lindisfarne)) and drew 40 or so riders, including a fair few recumbents, tandems, folders and other interesting machines. The Bike Right events are very informal winter get-togethers... Bike Right 6.5 squeezes in at the tail end of the winter: Fri 23rd to Sun 25th Feb. It is to be held at Longridge Towers School (where Phil Stanbury, Anthrotech-riding Bike Right regular, works). Unlike previous events no self-catering facilities are available but breakfast and evening meal are included in the price of £30. Meals must be taken - i.e. no reduction if you don't want them. If interested, contact Tom Johnston on 01668 282 209. Bike Right 7 is already being planned for November 2001 - dates to be confirmed. The Bike Right website could do with updating...
