HP aircraft lecture in London next month...Go along (it's free) and hear John McIntyre describe the ups and downs of building a human powered aircraft... Roger of Spokesfest/Cyclemagic writes: ****** The annual Royal Aeronautical Society Human Powered Aircraft Group lecture will be given by John McIntyre on January 16th at the RAeS Lecture Theatre, 4 Hamilton Place, London, beginning at 1800 hours. Anyone who has heard John talk about how he designed and built Airglow will know it'll be an interesting and informative lecture. Here's what the invite says: Off the Drawing Board into the Air The detailed structural design of human powered aircraft is difficult and it has taken many man years of work to resolve all the problems. It is possible that the lack of adequate understanding of the problems and solutions is one of the single biggest obstacles that prevents many groups from constructing aircraft. Several aircraft will be used to illustrate how to design strong and light structures. No tickets are required and visitors are welcome. ****** I (Peter Eland) was amongst the visitors at a Spokesfest event several years ago who heard his talk, and can confirm that John McIntrye is a fascinating and excellent speaker, whose quiet but authoritative delivery had the audience spellbound.
