Rowing trike from Italy does it with style
An ingenious three-wheel design for whole-body exercise...
News comes on the Trikes mailing list of a new rowing cycle from Italy, the Vogabike:
www.vogabike.com
It's certainly an impressive-looking machine - the steering seems clever, and the three-wheel stability will probably be less intimidating for first-time rowing bikers than the many two-wheel rowing bike arrangements around:
Incidentally, the dates for the 2003 European Rowingbike Championship (for Thys rowing bikes) have recently been announced - see the the events listing.

| From: Ben - Kinetics ([email protected]) on 03 January 2003 | | It's long, innit? I wonder what the big proboscis is for - just for aerodynamics or is it needed to hold the complicated transmission? |
| From: John J ([email protected]) on 03 January 2003 | | From the looks of it, on the "hardware" page of their website, the proboscis contains 'gubbins'. I hadn't realised just how big this machine was, as I had only seen pictures of it riderless before. |
| From: Murph ([email protected]) on 07 January 2003 | That's wonderful (-: I'd love to have a play with one.
It has to be big if they're actually going to get real oarsmen to play... |
| From: Ben - Kinetics ([email protected]) on 08 January 2003 | Ah, now I understand...
The girl is just for show - they really have Jonathan Edwards tucked into that front fairing ;-) |
