York initiatives gather paceThe police cycle squad is declared a success, and child cycle training is rolled out to all ten-year-olds... The two stories follow from the continued success of York's cycling paramedic - which we reported in Velo Vision Issue 3 and who keeps getting positive coverage in the local news: Evening Press paramedic story Now, the York Evening Press reports on how the six-month trial for cycling police has been a success: Cycling cops ride high in the saddle and also on how schools throughout the city will be offering cycle training to Year 5 pupils: Having a wheel of a time All this activity no doubt helps explain why York has one of the highest levels of cycle useage in the country.
