  • Ah but if youd dropped in on Pete's office in York you could've picked up your copy yesterday afternoon

  • Yes Seamus, but not everyone can live in 'God's own county'. We must be tolerant and sympathetic to the geographically challenged among us. They'll come round in time, poor things...

  • Hello York!
I was born and bred in Sheffield. Left in 1966 for Southern climes. Lived near Bristol for a few years then Poole, Dorset. Now back in Thornbury which is 17 miles North from Bristol, in South Gloucestershire. I am takeing my wife and daughter (aged 12) to Yorkshire caravaning at Easter, to show them where I came from and how nice it is to look at but not to dream of home, I like it South!
    Best regards,
    John.

  • Ayup John.

I bet you get your copy before I get mine and I only live 40 miles south of York, in Maltby (People's Republic of South Yorkshire).

  • My issue 9 arrived at 7.00 on the dot this morning (Sat).
Anybody see the bit on BBC Breakfast tv about police on bikes featuring the York Lot- Quite good I thought apart from they rode down pedestrian alleys.
Also a report that Leicester men are the healthiest in the UK. - All that cycle courier work Roger t'hilldodger has been doing no doubt made a difference.

  • I'm not healthy at the moment coz I was knocked off me bike by a wo***n driver on Friday - right outside a school. I was going in the opposite direction when she pulled out on to my side of the road. Nothing broken but the bikes written off.

The nurse I saw said choccy cake was good for curing bruising, aches and pains - but I'm too poorly to got to the shop.

  • Rog, I'll send you a cake in the post. If I forget, I'll give you it at Spokesfest.

Nice piccie on page 43 of Velovision (arrived Sat am) of Dave & Steve Sparrow. Steve's the one up front. He's the fellow I sold my Peer Gynt to.

That Cass Gilbert rainbow photo is good though I still prefer the piccie in Cycling+ of his girlfriend riding a Challenge Mistral (hired from Elan Liegfietsen)southwards on the Zeeland Brug with Zierekzee in the distant background.

  • Love the mag as it rekindles my desire to ride again, after an unhappy 2 years. I am glad I was loaned one, as I am now a HAPPY subscriber.
