Dutch Perfect for Bromptons?

The German Brompton fanclub appeals for expressions of interest to convince the manufacturer of these very puncture-resistant tyres to make them in the appropriate size...

Rainer Zenz of the Bromptonauten writes:

We have started a survey to find out how many Brompton users are interested in buying these special puncture resistant Dutch Perfect tyres. Perhaps - if enough Brompton users vote for it - we can convince the manufacturer to go into production. Or, let's say, the result could give him some hints if the production might be economically feasible.

These tyres (37-349 / 16 x 1 3/8") could be also interesting for other special bike enthusiasts.

The vote link (in English with some further information) is:

Also, inspired by the 'Origami Ride"' is a new informal folder ride in Berlin, called "Bromptonauten-Treffen". First meeting is on May 10, 2003 at 10:00 near the station Friedrichstrasse. All folders and interested people are welcome. Some more information (in German language) is here: http://www.bromptonauten.de/treffen/berlin.html.

  • The Dutch Perfekt tire in this size would also be of interest, for owners of Moulton MKIII bikes.
(The last ones were made by Raleigh.)
When the Brompton was designed, they used a tire that was available and used the same size and typ
    as the MK III.
Some people have wondered why some Brommies have a tire marked Raleigh.

  • That's great, It will give AtoB magazine some material to fill another few issues going into the minutest detail about. (At least it stops them going on about bloody trains).

  • It has been brought to my attention, that besides the MKIII this tyre will also fit other early Moultons.
