Wanna buy a bike sign?
Bid quickly then, before ebay pull this rather amusing spoof auction...
As I write this, it's at
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item;=3621549033
I've got a screengrab just in case it goes down - see here - a largeish image so will open in a new window.
Thanks to John Humphreys for the tip-off.

Fabulous. I especially liked the 'Buyer Collects' clause. Only if they own a pneumatic drill I guess. |

Brilliant. I'll have two... |

I'm afraid it won't fit on that A-frame I swapped with you last week, Antony |

Well can't you paint me another one? |
From: Peter Eland ([email protected]) on 11 August 2003 |
Well seeing as the leading bid is now 10 million quid getting out that pot of paint might just be worthwhile.
Incidentally we have an interesting bike-path-sign related article coming up in Issue 11... |

Looks like Ebay have pulled the auction. Just tried to access it and got:
"The item you requested ( 3621549033 ) is invalid, still pending, or no longer in our database. Please check the number and try again. If this message persists, the item has either not started and is not yet available for viewing, or has expired and is no longer available."
Humour is a lost art, evidently. |

Darn! I was just going to put a bid in... On a slightly related subject, looking through the Highway Code I see that a cyclist on a shared use path MUST by law stay on the side marked for bikes, but that no such restriction is mentioned for pedestrians. So if a crowd of people is walking in the cycle lane I suppose you plough through them rather than go round..?

Works for me. The law is an ass. |

Get an Air Zounds, but don't use it until you've politely 'pinged' from a distance, then wait till you're about 1 metre away from them. Brilliant when used on Americans! |
