Crossing Canada by couch
We don't normally cover tour reports but this one's a bit special...

| Oh yes, I can just imagine my non-cyclist housemate's expression when he asks where the sofa has gone and we say 'We're converting it to race at Cyclefest'. I suppose a reclining sofa would give an even more recumbent ride. Would you choose leather or draylon? Flowery cushions? And there are those holders you can get to put over the arm for the remote control, which would hold Powerbars and bananas... Stop me, I'm liking this idea too much... |

I just caught the end of a feature on design classics on BBC Radio 4's You and Yours programme in which Creative Director of 'Habitat', Tom Dixon, nominated 'the bicycle' as his one and only desert island design classic. So maybe we should plump for Habitat sofas to convert for racing. Listeners are also invited to vote for their own design classic on the website:
