New Year tidings
Here's to a cylingly splendid 2004, and a news roundup including cycling on UK TV tonight and a revamped ICE website
- Happy New Year to all our readers, and I hope that, as I did, many of you enjoyed a nice break over Christmas (or whichever festival you favour, if any, around this time :-). As of tonight (Tues) I've caught up with all orders and subscription renewals - of which a satisfyingly large pile was awaiting my return. Thanks!
Apologies to anyone to whose email I've not yet replied. I'll get to it in the next couple of days - several hundred are piled up...
And here's to a good cycling year in 2004!
Peter Eland
- Cycling films and BKN bod Seamus King writes about a UK telly program coming up tonight (Tuesday...). No doubt those of you readers who have televisions will be able to find a schedule to say when it's on:
**** There's a new series staring on BBC2 tonight (6th Jan) about unusual war machines from WW2. The Sunday Times TV supplement claims that tonight they feature a rocket launching catherine wheel and a FOLDING BIKE used by paratroopers. ta-ta, Seamus. ****
- Meanwhile Inspired Cycle Engineering have recently revamped their comprehensive website all about Trice recumbent trikes:
**** Just a note to let you know that we now have a new look web site up on line at www.ice.hpv.co.uk Lots of information about the new models and the whole range. More work on the site to follow... Cheers and a very happy Christmas to you all. Neil, Chris, John and Ben - The ICE men. ****

The parabike built by BSA during the war is still built today as a replica called GALAXE. Ralf |

Ah, but the 'bike' featured last night on TV turned out not to be a bike, but a folding 2-stroke scooter. Not unlike those that are all the rage currently but you can't actually ride anywhere legally. The giant Catherine Wheel bomb was fun though, with it's sophisticated guidance system (two long bits of string, pulled by the operator...) |

Yeah, pity it wasn't a folding bicycle but it was a good program nonetheless. That nutter was so bloomin' enthusiastic about the whole thing.
Liked the Exploding Rat best and the Hot air Ballon with Parachuting Pidgeons.
Less impressed with his unsuccesful Floating Bridge. Wonder what'll be on next week. |

Just caught the ending when they were on about guided missiles using Kamikazi Pidgeons |

For Information on the Folding scooter have a look at Thony Hadlands website. |

Next week it apparently includes exploding camel dung and an underwater canoe... |

The exploding camel dung was good. |
