Netherlands events update

Next weekend there's a big trade show at the new Elan Ligfietsen shop - plus the latest from the CycleVision organisers...

If you're free next weekend (20-21st March) and would like to see a good range of European bikes from most major manufacturers, Elan Ligfietsen in Mill, Netherlands, is celebrating the opening of their vast new shop with a trade show:

http://www.elan.cc/beurs/

That website has a list of exhibitors. It looks like most major European manufacturers will be there, and Elan is well worth a visit anyway...

Meanwhile, preparations continue for CycleVision in June. The organisers recently posted an update on ligfiets.net:

There are some new developments we would like to present. New are some changes to the former setup. Talks are going on regarding changes in the rules for the races. We will keep you updated.

We aim to collaborate with the worlds first Tallbike Conference. Obviously, Tallbikes are quite different from the average low racer. On the website www.tallbike.net/ you'll find ample images. A presentation of the plans can be found at http://www.tallbike.net/weblog.php?id=C0_7_1.

Further, we will colaborate with the cyclists union (fietsersbond) to create a child trial track, where children can exhaustively try childrens bikes and elect their champion.

The results will be used in a comprehensive test of children's bikes, to be published in the September issue of the "Vogelvrije Fietser" (the magazine of the fietsersbond).

Obviously, this is not the only child's thing during the weekend. Last years successful children's race will be extended and there will be space to relax in the child's corner.

For the racers, the programme is more or less the same as last years. The Quarter Mile Drag is spectacular and also the 3 hour race is highly regarded. The latter will be exciting, since the organisation is putting a big financial price for those riders who manage to exceed 200 km!

Another spectacular item this weekend will probably be the Flyke. A three-wheeled recumbent, equiped with a propeller. It makes the bike fly! When the weather doesn't allow that, it is used as a cycle. We have permission to fly on the CV terrain and realy look forward to it! See www.paramotorclub.nl for more information.

That's all for now, but watch this space where we will announce the CV website going live.
