Stein and Airnimal update sites, add modelsTwin updates as the recumbent trike and travel bike bike makers unveil their latest... Over at Stein Trikes in Serbia, Robert Stein has recently launched 'Series IV' of his recumbent trike lineup, with many improvements in detail across the range. For example, the suspended Nomad now has the carrier rack attached to the frame, rather than to the unsuspended swingarm: The very latest model is a suspended version of the Road Shark, named the Tuareg: Stein have also redesigned the center section of their Magnum tandem to allow adjustment of the captain's seat angle without interfering with the stoker's legs. They will be exhibiting the Magnum, along with another new model, at Eurobike in germany in early September. ***************** Folding/travel bike makers Airnimal recently updated their website with details of some new models which have joined the original Airnimal Chameleon. All have, I think, been featured at least as prototypes in various issues of the mag, but it's good to see them 'for real'. As we mentioned in our York Cycle Show report their new Joey is, at £695 in the UK, by some way the most affordable machine in their line-up. And, rather like the Burrows 2D, it can be stashed neatly against a wall thanks to a QR stem and (optional) folding pedals. Or, in 30 seconds or so, it folds not much bigger than its 24" wheels - pics of the folded package are on the website. And using the smaller 20" (406) wheel size to allow space for grippy oversize tyres the Rhino brings off-road technology to folders - in their words "The Rhino, whilst the ideal companion for those far flung trails, is also perfect for a heavy duty, mixed surface tour - the stiff frame and plush suspension suit it perfectly for the endless adventure of the world's byways."
