Just wondering - how many of you lot actually enjoyed/did the spot-the-difference, crossword, etc on the 'Back Page' of Issue 16?
I'm just wondering if its worth continuing. Would you all rather prefer an extra page elsewhere in the mag? Or would it be a shame to drop it? Let me have your views below!
Cheers!
Peter

To be honest, I thought it was a bit church-newsletterish ;-) Having something special on the back page is definitely a good idea, though. Full-page cartoon a-la Mint Sauce? Photo gallery with artistic reader-submitted pics? Retro page with old recumbents etc?

Have to admit, I didn't do the crossword or the spot the difference (well, not properly with a pen). Readers' pics sounds good (although we'll all get the sulks if our picture isn't in, and some readers seem to be in the mag more than others anyway... )
Or Auntie Arch's Problem Page. Readers write in with cycling or personal problems, and I tell them to pull themselves together and have a cup of tea... (alternatively, a proper technical query page...?)
Or just a full page pull out poster of Leicester's most handsome etc...
Something with a bit of humour/lighter interest would be good...

A cartoon. Like the one in this months BikeBiz.
Sorry to those who don't receive BikeBiz and don't know what I'm talking about.

The world's most handsome cycling historian. Probably.

...or you could just leave it blank, then we could draw or stick in what we liked. Then we could show relatives/friends/collegues that we were in the mag and then I might not get brief faked interest for a change.

Or better still, a photo of a really fast/fit/heavily laden long distance touring cyclist, with a space left for us to insert photos of our own heads to make some of us look more impressive. Like those photographer's boards at the seaside that you stick your head through. (Does anyone know if they have a name, by the way...?)

Those of us who STILL haven't deciphered the microscopic rendering of the lovely-looking KMX cartoon would like a full-page version!

KMX cartoon - this can be made readable - if you have a scanner - scan it then print it at a bigger size (or just scan it and blow it up on screen) - though if Peter is going to do this regularly, I would expect a free computer and scanner as part of the velovision subscription!

Although, to be brutally honest, the funniest thing in the cartoon for me was the 7 teats on the cow's udder...
Free gifts with the sub, there's an idea... T-shirt? Multi-tool? Dutch Overshoes? ;-)

Speaking of free gifts, heres an idea for Peter.
Velovision stickers. They'ed have to be high quality, reflective ones mind you, and say 7 x 3cm so they fit on frames / mudguards, etc.
Nice photo on your profile by the way Sue.

Why, thank you. I like it very much, thanks to Crispin at Bikerite for taking it. Shame it was at the top of 3 miles of climb, hence me being on foot. But over the brow of every hill, as they say, there's a terrifying descent and overheating rims.
Stickers! Yeah! High quality for the discerning cyclist of course.
One year at the dreadful NEC bike show, I saw a young boy completely covered in free stickers - all over his head and everything. I bet it hurt pulling them off.

OK, here's the KMX cartoon at readable size (no, not as below, CLICK IT and it will open up BIG!)
A decision has been made re back page (and other things too!) but I'll announce that properly shortly.
Cheers!
Peter

How about a bad cycling facility/good cycling facility page, divided horizontally, with readers' submissions of good stuff above: photos of superb cycleways, quotes from authorities who say something useful, etc -- and bad stuff below: dreadful paths, nasty quotes, beer adverts that insult folding bikes, etc.?
Yes, I know it's too late for suggestions, but just a thought.
