At long last, issue 22 of BKN, the July/August/September/October/November/December issue is done, up and ready,.

OK so there's still a couple more bits I've got to add to it yet, probably before January, sort of a case of remembering where the necessary bits are stored.

Tragically some of these bits are stored on my mployers server which is dead and has taken my [email protected] email address with it.

Anyway, there's News (actually old news), Some nice piccies from the summer, Bike Right 10, a whole chapter from. "3 Men on a Bummell," a very hard cycling quiz, letters, Coming Events etc....

Nice Stuff there again Seamless!
No picture of my brand new Trice what I got brought up to me at the Cyclefest though.

At the pace of sailing ships and bicycles!

Bit more added.

Rubbish batteries in lousy digital camera prevented me taking more than half a dozen photos at Cyclefest.

Seamus, you're odd, it's official, I read it on bentrider! :)

>The more than slightly odd Seamus King has released the 22nd iteration of his cycling newsletter. It's available here... http://uk.geocities.com/mikstar123/bkn22.html. If you've never read it before, I suggest you check it out.

I don't think that Mr. King would deny this charge.

Try NiMH batteries - work a treat with digital cameras (and portable MiniDisc players :-) ). If I'm out and about with the camera I usually take a spare set of (charged) batteries with me, although I've rarely had to use them.

Yes, Simon. I quite agree about the value of NiMH batteries.

I've used them in the camera, assorted lights and other things since post summer holiday and they've already paid for themselves several times over and have a much longer lifespan than leading battery makers products (that rabbit woul be well outrun by a rabbit fitted with NiMH).

I see the great Simon Ward movie, "It Shouldn't Happen to a Vet," was on the telly last Sunday.

And apparently Lance Armstrong makes a cameo appearance in 'Dodgeball'
(apologies if everyone knew this)
He's at the airport and not on a bike, so probably too obscure a reference to make it onto Seamus' list.

Still waiting for the screening dates for the Balamory episode with me, Josie Jump and a dozen cyclists in a race.....

Which Josie jump would that be? There seems to be an imposter on that program trying to look like the real Josie. Although it didn't fool me!!!!

Rich.

of course I DO watch this with my children HONEST..

Hi, Seamus, it is wrong. Simon Ward played J.Herriot in "All creatures great and small". In "it shouldn't happen to a vet" Herriot was played by John Alderton.

Passing through Alnmouth (spelling?) on the way back from Bike Right on Sunday, heard a small child exclaim "It's Balamory!" - looking at a row of gaily painted houses on the harbour front. I hear Tobermory (the real Balamory) is doing very nicely out of toddler tourists and their families, so maybe Alnmouth is trying to muscle in on the action.

My sister once threatened to disown me and my Mum when we launched into a rendition of the Balamory theme in the street one day...
